Goat Island

Goat Island is a national park island right in the middle of the harbour. This island is part of the Sydney Harbour National Parks system, and it has an extraordinary history. In colonial times, Goat Island was used as a convict stockade, a quarry, and later used for a gunpowder magazine storage depot. Since then, it has also been used as a fire station, police station, a movie set, and the island is now a popular tourist attraction for day trips.
